Catholic Education Week is celebrated in all Catholic school boards during the first week of May each year. The theme for 2024 is “We, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members, one of another.” (Romans 12:5)

As part of Catholic Education Week, the Most Reverend Francis Leo, Archbishop of Toronto visited St. Michael’s Catholic School which is one of the parish schools of St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica in downtown Toronto. Archbishop Leo was accompanied by Fr. Adam Pantaleo and Fr. Arthur Lee as they visited several classrooms and took time to answer some questions from students in grades 2/3, grades 7/8 and from the junior kindergarten class.

In his message from earlier this week, Archbishop Leo highlighted the importance of offering authentic Christian witnessing to our children saying, “In Ontario, we have a precious gift in publicly funded Catholic education, one that must be carefully and thoughtfully tended to as we nurture the seeds of faith in our young people and journey with families in their vocation.” To read the message in its entirety, please click here.
